Have healthcare providers assess every patient’s level of physical activity at each clinic visit
Determine whether the patient is meeting the U.S. National Physical Activity Guidelines.
Provide patients with brief counseling to help them meet the guidelines and/or refer patients to healthcare or community-based resources for further physical activity counseling.
Our mission at South Aiken Physical Therapy and Wellness is to bring the Exercise is Medicine Initiative to our community to help everyone find the most natural solutions for their health concerns. How exactly is it that “exercise is medicine?” Consider that doctors prescribe medicine to keep you healthy and to prevent and manage chronic conditions and diseases such as obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, osteoporosis and more. As we all know, many medicines can have negative or bothersome side effects. Exercise, though, is a proven way to prevent and effectively manage many of those same conditions, without the side effects. Exercise is medicine because it is the main ingredient for improving the life and health for people with chronic diseases and multiple risk factors.
Like any medicine, exercise has to come in the right dose for you. South Aiken Physical Therapy and Wellness has a highly trained, dedicated personal trainers who will customize your exercise plan. Our trainers are experts in motion. They work with you to reach your health and fitness goals. Our trainers can freely collaborate with our in-house physical therapists to ensure that all of our clients get the most effective workouts. Our fitness center is unique, that’s why we don’t call it a gym. It is stocked with the safest, most highly advanced equipment for successful exercise programs. You won’t find Keiser technology in your average gym.
Exercising for health is different than exercising for fitness and sport and our trainers understand the difference and can make your program just right for you., whatever you goal.
